The charity ASPIRE is staging Amelia's Journey, the Creation of a Reluctant Celebrity, with music provided by the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, on June 21, 2008, at Severna Park HS auditorium. This is a fund raiser for the Severna Park Mural Project.
Amelia's Journey play - August 1, 2005
Amelia's Journey, the Creation of a Reluctant Celebrity, has been performed with full cast as a two act play at Chesapeake Arts Center Studio Theatre, Brooklyn Park, MD, 15 times (weekends July 16-25, 2004 [world premiere] and July 15-31, 2005). An abbreviated (35 minute version) was also performed with three actors (as Amelia Earhart, George Putnam and reporter Mike Harris) five times on December 31, 2004, at Colonial Players Theatre, Annapolis, MD, for First Night Annapolis. Mary (Simmons) Spencer and Scott Tanski portrayed Amelia Earhart and George Putnam at all twenty performances. Walt League portrayed reporter Mike Harris at the December 31, 2004 as well as the July 2005 performances of the play.
The first performances in July 2004 were directed by Eloise Ullman and choreographed by Vicki Smith. The December 2004 and July 2005 were directed by Christy Stouffer, who also choreographed the July 2005 shows. The music director for the full shows was Anita O'Connor
